Living a positive life is not as easy as it sounds but I believe that it is possible, so why not start now since it is the start of the year? The best way to initiate this way of thinking is by building a foundation. We can do this by setting goals to achieve throughout the year. In my opinion the best components to focus on are the following:
Stability
Stability is probably the most important component in life that will define whether you are happy or not. This is because most of the time we stress over money therefore, if we have a good job that we enjoy and get paid well enough to cover our bills and save for the future then we sure can be stable enough to do other things and won’t have to worry about not having a roof over our heads or not being able to feed ourselves. This will leave us not only physically stable but also mentally. So, what I am trying to say is if you don’t have a job or not doing anything to improve your financial status at the moment then, get up and start looking for a job, even if it is not the greatest is it a good start to succeed in life, step up that ladder!
Hobbies
We can’t just do business we also have to have pleasure! Yes, so many people now a days are workaholics and spend their lives making so much money but have no time to enjoy themselves and end up being unhappy. This is why there is a saying that “money doesn’t buy happiness”, which is true. How many rich and famous people end up crazy, start developing bad habits and become depressed even though they have so much money which could be used to enrich their happiness? Do be careful on how much time you spend working as life goes by too fast. Make time for yourself, it is all about balancing your lifestyle.
Taking on new hobbies is a great way to learn new things and become more social. This stops you from being lonely and can be really fun because it is something that you choose to do rather than being forced. You are also developing new skills when participating in different activities.
Friendships & Relationships
Only surround yourself with positive people and with people that will make you grow and you will see the positive impact that they will make in your life. Most people don’t realise that other individuals that they care about may be the cause on why they are miserable. We tend to focus so much on other people that we end up forgetting about ourselves. It took me years to notice this but now that I came to a realisation, I am a happier person with no worries.
If someone keeps pressuring you into doing things that are not beneficial for you then you should avoid being around them, or if you feel like that you keep sacrificing your happiness for them and get nothing but sadness in return please, leave the situation, you deserve better than that honey! Remember, you need people in your life that will build with you and not knock you down. Also, stop chasing after the people that don’t care about you. It is just a waste of time and effort and you will end up being hurt (this includes family members).
Travelling
Travelling will give you an opportunity to meet new people from different cultures which can be a fun thing to experience as it is something different that can change your perspective on how you see life in general. Physical appearance and relaxation of mind
For some of us, sometimes changing our appearance help us build confidence and that makes us happy. If this is the case then go ahead, don’t let anyone stop you.
I believe that exercising can also boost your self-esteem and change your perspective in life because when we feel good about ourselves it is easier to meet new people and make friends as we have confidence to approach them without feeling insecure, and it is much easier to love someone else when we are at peace with our own looks.
It is also important to have a relax mind and avoid getting stressed over situations that we cannot control. These days I’ve learned that if something is going wrong and I cannot change it then I need to move on from that situation and look forward to the future. This is part of moving on.
